Tyler, TX (KYTX) -- The parents facing child endangerment charges appeared in court Wednesday morning, with Judge Carole Clark and attorneys expressing frustration at the motions and interventions filed that are causing delays in the case.

In an effort to get the Kimbley children into a permanent home as soon as possible, Judge Clark has set a hard deadline for attorneys to file any new pleadings for custody. It will be Thursday, April 18th, at 5 p.m.

Deborah Willingham, the aunt of the children and David Kimbley's sister, is fighting for custody. The Millhorn family, relatives of the Kimbleys, also want to be considered. Judge Clark said those parties must pay for a home study to be conducted by CPS first.

Willingham's home study is almost complete, and her attorney says the Millhorn's study will begin today. The relatives aren't competing for the kids, but rather just want the court to have options, in case one person fails the home study.

Another custody hearing is set for next week Friday, April 26th at 9:30 a.m.
