2 car crash in Mount Pleasant leaves one in critical condition

MOUNT PLEASANT (KYTX) - On Thursday April 18th at approximately 1:04 p.m. a two vehicle crash occurred in the 900 Blk. E. Ferguson in Mount Pleasant. A 1998 Gray Dodge Ram Truck driven by 49-year-old James Sharbine of Naples. Sharbine was traveling westbound on Ferguson and crossed over several lanes of traffic striking a Blake's Furniture delivery truck head on. The delivery truck was driven by 37-year-old Donald Holderby of Pittsburg. 

Sharbine had to be cut out of his vehicle by fire department personnel. The delivery truck was occupied by one additional passenger. All occupants from both vehicles were transported to Titus Regional Medical Center by ambulance due to injuries received from the collision. 

Sharbine was listed in critical condition at Titus Regional. He was expected to be flown to another hospital after his condition was stabilized. The occupants of the delivery vehicle were listed in good condition. 

Mount Pleasant Police criminal and specialized crash reconstruction investigators are working the crash scene, Chief Wayne Isbell said. Investigators will try to determine why Sharbine crossed over into oncoming traffic hitting the other vehicle head on.

Charges are pending the investigation.
