Web Exclusive: Summer road trips getting cheaper as gas prices fall

Posted: Updated:

(CBS) -  Good news for drivers. Experts predict gas prices could plunge another 20 cents by June.  Gas usually gets more expensive as summer approaches, but a steep fall in the price of oil is keeping costs low.  The nationwide average right now is $3.52 for a gallon of regular. In East Texas, people are paying around $3.14 a gallon.

Sales of previously owned homes dipped 6 tenths of a percent in March, mainly because the supply of available homes remains tight.  The National Association of Realtors says the median sales price rose nearly 12% to $184,300 dollars.  That's the biggest one month gain in eight years.

Netflix's decision to produce original programming seems to be paying off.  The company says it added 2 million U.S. subscribers to its video streaming service last quarter as it debuted its critically acclaimed series "House of Cards".

Ralph Lauren has agreed to pay $1.6 million dollars to settle federal charges that one of its subsidiaries bribed government officials in Argentina to get its merchandise through customs. The clothing maker will give back $700,000 dollars in illicit profits and pay an $882,000 dollar fine. Officials say Ralph Lauren reported the violations to the U.S. government itself once they were discovered.
