Cooler temps expected across East Texas Tuesday evening
EAST TEXAS (KYTX) - A cold front is making steady progress across North
Texas this afternoon. At 1 p.m., East Texas temperatures were well into the
70s while the Metroplex was in the mid to high 40s.
Cooler temperatures will
arrive here before sunset following a shift to northwesterly winds 15 gusting to
20 mph behind the front. There could be some showers and a rumble or two of
thunder with the front, but the majority of the rain will occur tonight and
Wednesday morning after the front moves through. Severe weather is not expected.
Lows Wednesday and Thursday will be in the mid 40s with highs in the low 60s
Wednesday and the low 70s Thursday. There will be a chance of scattered showers
and thunderstorms from Friday through the weekend with the best chance of rain
coming Friday night. Highs this weekend will be near 80 degrees.
