Time to Weigh-out for Lighten Up East Texas Challenge

Posted: Updated:

TYLER (KYTX) - The Lighten Up East Texas Challenge is wrapping up and it's time to see how much weight you've lost.  Weigh-out week is going on now through Saturday.

If you want to wait until Saturday, you can go to the new R.B. Hubbard Center from 10 a.m. to noon. That's at 304 East Ferguson Street in Tyler.

And mark your calendars for May 18th.  That's when the Lighten Up East Texas celebration will take place at Trinity Mother Frances Rose Stadium from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.  There will be a presentation, to acknowledge all participants for their hard work and to award prizes.  Someone, who took part in the LETU challenge, will win a 2013 Dodge Dart from Allen Samuels.

Other great prizes include $4,000 worth of Brookshire's gift cards, a $5,000 Travel Masters/Fit City dream vacation, annual memberships and massage packages at ETMC Olympic Center and hotel gift certificates.

"Our goal for this event was to encourage East Texans to take control of their health, to make smart and healthy choices, to make time for physical activity and to ultimately lose weight in a healthy way," says George Roberts, Chief Executive Officer of NET Health and Co-Chair of Fit City.

Lighten Up East Texas is a regional weight loss challenge that was created by the Fit City Coalition.
