Man solicits child porn from people who respond to Craiglist ads offering different services

Posted: Updated:

HOUSTON (KHOU) — A man is accused of being so bold as to solicit strangers for child pornography after they responded to Craigslist ad postings for different services, according to the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable's Office.

Spencer Tecumseh House, 22, was charged with possession of child pornography.

A man who wanted a tire cover for his Jeep was looking on Craigslist to see if he could find one for sale on March 11. He did and contacted the seller, House, to make arrangements.

While the two were exchanging emails about the tire cover, House mentioned that he was a photographer and asked the man if he had any daughters who were interested in modeling, according to court documents. House said he was particularly looking for girls between the ages of 6 and 12.

House allegedly went on to ask the man how "open" he was about his children and asked if they would pose in underwear and topless. He offered to pay $5 for the topless photos and $10 for total nudity.

The potential buyer was horrified and reported House to authorities.

The case was assigned to the Houston Metro Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, who found another case House was linked to.

A father who wanted to get his 5-year-old daughter into modeling said he responded to a Craigslist ad soliciting teen and preteen models for a new studio on April 17. Someone responded to the father's inquiry and asked for nude images of the child. That father was also disturbed and contacted authorities, who traced the IP address from the emails back to House's residence.

Authorities obtained a search warrant and moved in.

House admitted to authorities that he had placed the ads in question. He also said he wanted to photograph children in various clothing and in the nude, according to court documents.

A search of House's computer found numerous images and videos of child sexual assault and exploitation. The videos showed little girls who appeared to be as young as 5 years old in extremely graphic sexual situations with adult men.

Investigators had seen enough.

Charges were filed and House's bail was set at $50,000.
