The man killed has not yet been identified yet. He was said to have been walking north bound along the street. The Chevy truck was traveling north bound in the outside lane of travel, and hit the man walking.

Members of the local fire department and EMS arrived on scene to treat the victim. The victim had received serious injuries from the impact and died at the scene. Justice of the Peace Carl Davis pronounced the young man dead. Judge Davis ordered an autopsy be conducted at the medical examiner's office in Tyler, Texas.
