NORTH RICHLAND HILLS (CBSDFW.COM) – An Amber Alert has been issued for a 14-year-old girl missing out of North Richland Hills and feared to be in the company of a dangerous man.

Police are trying to find Ruby Contreras, who has been missing since April 24. On that day the teenager went to school at North Oaks Middle School in Haltom City, but never made it back home. Her family says this type of behavior is very unusual for Ruby, and they do not have any reason to believe that she has run away.

Police investigating Ruby's disappearance now believe she may no longer be in North Texas. Investigators think the teen is traveling westward, possibly to or through El Paso, on a bus with one Stephan Andrew Cox. According to officials, Cox is dangerous and if Ruby is with him she isn't safe.

Ruby Contreras is a Hispanic female, who stands 4' 11" and weighs 95 pounds. She was last seen wearing a black hoodie and blue jeans.

Stephan Andrew Cox is a 26-year-old Hispanic male, who stands 5' 5" and weighs 130 pounds.

Anyone with information about the whereabouts of Ruby Contreras or Stephan Cox should call 911 or immediately contact North Richland police at (817) 281-1000.
