LONGVIEW/HARRISON COUNTY (KYTX) - Two women are suspects in an investigation dealing with manholes being stolen from the City of Longview.

According to Kristie Brian with Longview Police Department, 40-year-old Rachel Bradley and 51-year-old Penny Hirth Summers were caught trying to sell 59 manhole covers to a scrap yard in East Longview. As previously reported, the women were not arrested by Harrison County sheriff's deputies. It was determined that the manhole covers were taken from the Longview Business Park near South Eastman Road.

Brian said deputies learned the two women also tried to sell an urn taken from a Longview cemetery.

According to Gregg County Jail records, Summers was just sentenced on Wednesday to 150 days in county jail on a theft conviction. She was released from jail the day of the sentencing.

Bradley is scheduled for sentencing May 6 on her conviction for stealing thousands of dollars in Christmas gifts from the Gregg County Child Welfare Board in December 2011, online records showed.
