Showers, thunderstorms to bring cooler temps across East Texas
EAST TEXAS (KYTX) - This afternoon we saw partly cloudy skies and
temperatures in the mid 80s with scattered showers and occasional thunder moving
from the southeast into our southern and southeastern counties by mid-afternoon.
The northernmost rain areas had reached I-20 near Marshall by 3:00 p.m. This
activity will end this evening around sunset. Tomorrow, we can expect similar
conditions, but there will be a big change with the arrival of a cold front
The front will bring a good chance of showers and
thunderstorms mainly Thursday. Winds will be southeasterly 5 to 10 mph
Wednesday, then turn from the north 15 to 25 mph Thursday and Friday. High
temperatures Wednesday will reach the low to mid 80s, but they will be nearly 20
degrees cooler Thursday and Friday.
Temperatures will dip to the low 40s and
possibly upper 30s Friday and Saturday mornings. The weekend through early next
week will be mostly sunny with high temperatures from the mid 70s Sunday to near
80s degrees Monday and Tuesday.
