UPDATE: At least $36,000 raised to pay medical expenses for an east Texas toddler.

seven-hundred, thirty-three runners signed up for last night's Color for Camryn 5K Run in White Oak. The run benefited the family of 10-month-old Camryn Noll -- who was born with a rare illness called LCH that affects her cells.

The fundraiser featured a basketball signed by the white oak high school state champion basketball team.

WHITE OAK/GREGG COUNTY (KYTX) - Last-minute registration begins in less than twenty minutes for the Color for Camryn 5K Run benefiting Camryn Noll, a White Oak 10-month-old born with a disease known as LCH.

The run begins at 7 p.m. at a parking lot across South White Oak Road from White Oak High School. More than 600 runners have already signed up, raising at least $20,000 so far, organizers say.

LCH, or Langerhans cell histiocytosis, is the most common of the histiocytic disorders and occurs when the body accumulates too many immature Langerhans cells, a subset of the larger family of cells known as histiocytes. Langerhans cells are a type of white blood cell that normally help the body fight infection. In LCH, too many Langerhans cells are produced and build up in certain parts of the body where they can form tumors or damage organs.

Entry fee is $35 for adults and $25 for students.
