Kilgore PD investigates man hit by train over weekend

KILGORE (KYTX) -- On Saturday, May 4 at about 11:12 p.m. Kilgore Police Officers were notified by Union Pacific Rail Road one of their trains had struck a pedestrian walking on the tracks in Kilgore.

Kilgore Police began searching for the pedestrian and located him underneath the train approximately a ¼ mile west of Southport Road. The subject struck by the train was identified as Armando Aguillar Lopez, 38 years of age, of Kilgore.

Lopez sustained major injuries and was transported to Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview where he underwent emergency surgery.

As of Sunday, Lopez is listed in critical condition.
