The senate has passed a bill that may well end tax-free shopping on the internet.  If the bill becomes law, internet retailers will have to charge the tax for anyone living in a state that already collects sales taxes.  The senate passed the bill 69 to 27.  It will now head to the house where it faces stiff opposition from some lawmakers who say this is a tax increase.

Wal-mart has reclaimed the top spot on the Fortune 500 list.  Exxon Mobil dropped to #2.  Apple ranked sixth and Facebook, which went public in may of last year, made the Fortune 500 list for the first time.

And is mom or dad more effective in talking to kids about money matters?  A survey by fidelity found that mothers clearly have the upper hand.  It shows moms are often the first to encourage conversations over issues like financial security in retirement, caring for an elder or estate planning.
