Forever Friends

Mary Witton and Issamar Ibarra have been the best of friends for 2 years now, despite the age differences.
The two were paired up through forever friends, a program that offers girls a mentor and women a chance to pass along what they know.
Issamar says Mary has helped her tremendously.
"We have been learning how to have a better career, how to handle it, and how to be nicer to others. And it's all thanks to them."- Issamar Ibara, 9th grader in program.
"Just being a friend, someone she can rely on, and talk to" - Mary Witton
Forever Friends Director Lyndell McAllister says Tuesday night's banquet recognizes girls who have completed the program, and will graduate high school .
"They talk about all types of life issues, and they become a true friend and confidant. And that adult helps them find their passion" - Lyndell McAllister, Director of Mentor Program
"The group says they will serve plenty of girls here tonight, but there are plenty more kids waiting for that mentor" - Kevin Boyce
15 graduate the program this year, but there are 135 others still involved.
To sign up the only requirement for a teen is that she wants a mentor and meets with her once a week.
For Issamar and Mary, it's been an experience they'd never trade for anything.
