SPRING HILL (KYTX) -  Students filled Spring Hill High School's gym for a surprise concert, featuring nationally renowned musician, 15-year-old Matthew Davidson.

The group Play it Forward based in Linden in Cass County sponsored the event.
The organization gives away free guitars to students who want to learn music, but don't have the instruments.

"My aunt used to have one, but when she moved away I couldn't practice like I wanted to."
Candace Copeland took home one of the guitars after teachers nominated her.
She's grateful she can finally practice the art of guitars again.
" I am very excited, now I can do what I've always wanted to do"
"The principal says he puts a lot of importance on the fine arts, and like these guitars --- he wants his students to know what they have to offer' - Kevin.
"They have given us 2 before, and I talked to the program and they said they could get us 4 more, so we are very excited"- Denny Lind.

Ken Chinn presented the guitars, and brought the show to the students. He says music helped him. And hopes it does the same for these kids.
"Music enriches peoples lives at the core" - Chinn.

For Candace, she says plans for her summer just changed.
"I have a friend that plays guitar, so hopefully I'll be over there and she will help me with it" - Copeland.
