UPDATE: Standoff ends with one person shot

Update, LONGVIEW (KYTX) - Longview Police have released the name of the woman. The woman is 38-year-old Candace Johnson. 

After a 2-hour standoff, Longview Police say they received a welfare call to Eden. They say Johnson barricaded herself inside her home, and fired at Police from within. Police shot tear gas into the home, and when the lady came out she opened fire again. Police say they returned fire. The woman was transported to Good Shepherd in Longview, where she later died.

UPDATE, LONGVIEW (KYTX) - Longview Police have reopened all blocked roadways with the exception of the 2000 block of Eden. 

After a 2-hour standoff, Longview Police say they received a welfare call to Eden. They say a woman barricaded herself inside her home. Police shot tear gas into the home, and when the lady came out she opened fire. Police say they returned fire. The woman was transported to Good Shepherd in Longview, where she later died. 

Police are not reporting any other injuries. 

 

 

UPDATE: LONGVIEW (KYTX) - Longview police say one person was shot after a two-hour standoff in Longview.

Police have confirmed that the person who did the shooting barricaded himself inside a home during the standoff police say that the SWAT team shot tear gas into the home and person was then shot.

LPD spokeswoman Kristie Brian says that person was taken to a local hospital, where she has died.


 

 

UPDATE: LONGVIEW (KYTX) - One person has been taken away from the scene of the standoff by ambulance.

No further details as to why.

 


UPDATE: LONGVIEW (KYTX) - According to Longview Independent School District's spokesman Adam Holland, JL Everhart Elementary school students had been let out for the day, but they were brought back to campus because of the standoff situation happening in the 200 block of Eden Rd. Parents are being called to come pick their children up.

 

Forest Middle School will release students at 3:45 p.m. and their parents are also being called to come pick them up.

 


UPDATE: LONGVIEW (KYTX) - Longview Fire Department and DPS are on the scene of the standoff in Longview in the 200 block of Eden Drive.

 

Longview information officer Kristie Bryan tells CBS 19 that they have blocked off Alpine Road from Loop 281 to Page Road.

Anyone living in Paverstone Edition is allowed to enter there homes. Anyone living pass Paverstone Edition are asked to not attempt to come home at this time.

Officer Bryan tells us that there has been reports of shots fired.

 


LONGVIEW (KYTX) - Longview police are involved in a standoff on Eden Drive.
The SWAT team has been called to the scene.
According to Longview information officer Kristie Bryan, a person is inside of a house with several weapons.
