LONGVIEW/GREGG COUNTY (KYTX) - The Longview Fire Department and the Muscular Dystrophy Association are teaming up again this year to raise money to help families in East Texas living with neuromuscular disease.

On Fridays, May 10, 17, and 24, Longview Firefighters will participate in MDA's "Fill the Boot" Campaign by taking to the streets to raise money. Firefighters will be located at the intersections of Loop 281 and Fourth Street; Estes Parkway and Eastman Road; and Pine Tree Road and Marshall Avenue.

All donated funds will go towards assisting the MDA in providing the best in patient care and services as well as research efforts in seeking treatments and cures for neuromuscular diseases. Last year the Longview Firefighters raised over $52,000 to help families in the East Texas area.

The Longview Firefighters would like to again thank the citizens of Longview and the surrounding communities for continuing to support the "Fill the Boot" Campaign and the ongoing efforts to eliminate neuromuscular disease.
