Entertainment News: CBS pays tribute to fallen star Jeanne Cooper

Posted: Updated:

(CBS) - In entertainment news, CBS's The Young and the Restless will celebrate its longest-tenured cast member, Jeanne Cooper.

The 84 year old actress died last week.

She joined the soap opera in 1973 playing the town's Grande dame, Katherine Chancellor.

Family, friends, and cast members will tape a tribute to Cooper this week.

It airs May 28th.

(CNN) - CBS is gearing up to announce its fall primetime lineup on Wednesday.

That's when we will find out which shows are returning, and what's new.

And the clock may reset for TV's "24."

The hit drama is reportedly set to return to television with Keifer Sutherland reprising his role as Jack Bauer.

Plans for a movie based on the series never materialized.

(CNN) - The movie, Iron Man 3, flexed some more super hero muscle at the weekend box office.

The blockbuster topped the charts for the second straight weekend in a row, with 72.5 million dollars in ticket sales.

Newcomer, The Great Gatsby came in at number two.

The modern adaptation of the classic American novel starring Leonardo Di Caprio and Tobey Maguire brought in just over $51 million dollars.

Coming in a distant third, Pain and Gain, starring Mark Wahlberg and Dwayne "the Rock" Johnson took in $5 million dollars.
