UPDATE: The National Weather Service in Shreveport says this morning that its warning coordination meteorologist, Bill Parker, is surveying damage from Thursday's storms to determine if a tornado might have touched down in those areas.

From the Waskom area, Parker will survey areas to the southeast into Caddo Parish along the path of Thursday's storms.

In a statement this morning:

"The national weather service in Shreveport will be conducting a storm survey today.
This survey will be for the storm damage which occurred may 16th in extreme east Texas and northwest Louisiana.
The survey path will generally be from Wako TX...to southern Shreveport...to furriers...and martin la."

MARSHALL (KYTX) - Employees at Five Starr Building Contractors on I20 near Marshall knew to find shelter when the storm hit around 3:30  Thursday afternoon.
"Fist-sized hail coming down on the car, winds blowing strong and pushing the vehicles around." Joey Cox
When it passed, worker Joey Cox saw a familiar scene.
"It's what you see now, which is nothing."
Police and Harrison County Sheriff's Deputies say the storms left plenty of damage.
The Panola-Harrison Electric co-op says the storm left thousands of homes and businesses without power.
And two people who were riding in this truck on FM 9 south of Waskom were injured,  when a tree fell on it, sending them to an area hospital.
Their names and the extent of their injuries has not been released.
"Even though workers say the storm took out their warehouse and blew the roof in this tree, it isn't the worst storm they've endured." - Kevin Boyce
Rod Cory owns Five Starr Builders.
In 2010, an EF 3 tornado caused $300,000 worth of damage to his business.
"Took everything. This time, it wasn't quite as bad but we had a substantial loss." - Rod Cory
He estimates damage from Thursday's storms at about $100,000 dollars.
Winds blew the roof off his warehouse onto a neighbor's home.
His workers spent part of the afternoon repairing the neighbor's roof.
"I learned perseverance, you just gotta keep going. God doesn't never give us anything that we can't handle." -
And he's just thankful none of his workers got hurt.
