We live in the South, so some of us may have a Southern accent, but would you consider saying "goodbye" to "howdy, y'all"?
The Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Tennessee was going to offer a speech class for it's workers next month to do just that, until it got canceled.

LONGVIEW/GREGG COUNTY (KYTX) - Lets face it, there's nothing like a pool on a hot day. But The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention say be wary of a potential unforeseen danger... E-coli.

"Biggest concern is always going to be safety."

E-coli is a bacteria that lives in the digestive system.

"I mean it's gross to talk about

Shawn Hara says if a child has a visible bathroom accident in the pool -- the problem is easily fixed.

"Then they'd remove it and close the pool for a short period of time."

So the pool can be treated. Hara says that's why it's important to have an alert pool staff.

"Staff that's paying attention and can get those things cleaned up and know what to do when those things happen."

Tracy Mitchell, manager of Longview's Swimming Pools Superstore says know what you're getting into...literally.

Actually you can ask the person who's in charge of the pool and ask them when's the last time they super chlorinated it and if they're keeping their tablets going."
Swimming Pool Superstore say just because you smell chlorine, doesn't mean a pool is clean, it's actually a bad sign that the chlorine is gassing up and leaving the pool. They say all public and residential pools should be shocked once a week.

And you can help stop the spread of e-coli too, by showering before getting in.

"There are bathrooms for a reason. get out of the pool, do your business, take a shower and come back."

Guaranteeing everyone some clean, safe fun.
