WWII Vets honored with trip to Washington, D.C.

KYTX (TYLER) - It's a very special morning for a group of World War II Veterans from across East Texas.

30 Veterans are making a trip of a lifetime to Washington, D.C. This is part of the World War II Heroes Flight -- made possible by Brookshires.

The Veterans met at the Fresh parking lot this morning in Tyler for a send-off celebration. They will spend 2 days in Washington, D.C. where they will tour the World War II Memorial along with a number of other memorials.

Congressman Louie Gohmert will also take them on a tour of the U.S. Capital. Dave Berry from our news partner the Tyler Morning Telegraph is also going along.
