EAST TEXAS (TYLER MORNING TELEGRAPH) - The six weeks Summer Latino Family Literacy project kicks off the first week of June for children and adult family members at five rural libraries in East Texas.

The summer family literacy session will present the Latino Family Literacy Project Bilingual Lectura Books Series, "My First Years" (Mis primeros anos), "I Am Ready!" (iListo!) and "Family Stories" (Cuentos familiars).

"Reading bilingual books is one of the most effective ways to acquire transferable literacy skills," according to the written release.
