East Texas shooting suspect charged with manslaughter

CORSICANA POLICE DEPARTMENT: 

At about 4:15 p.m. Friday, June 14, 2013, Det. Michael Dockery served an arrest warrant for manslaughter on Darwon Demonte Richardson, 27-years old, of Corsicana at the Navarro County Jail. The warrant was issued this date by Justice of the Peace J.P. Freeland. Richardson had been held in custody at the jail since Wednesday on a 72-hour investigative hold for murder in connection with the shooting death of Lequiria Chaney, 25-years old of Corsicana, about 2:20 a.m. on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 outside a residence in the 1700 block of East 6th Avenue.

The warrant for manslaughter was obtained and served after consultation with District Attorney Lowell Thompson.
