One man shot, 2 in custody in Longview

UPDATE: On Sunday at 12:04 p.m., Longview police responded to a shooting in progress in the 600 Block of Owings Avenue. When officers arrived, they learned Charles Dunn III was shot multiple times inside the house.

The suspects fled the scene prior to officers' arrival. However, officers were able to locate the suspects a short time later hiding under a sheet in the backyard of a home several houses down from the shooting.

Both suspects were taken into custody at that time. Dunn was transported to Good Shepherd Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

The two suspects, identified as 19 year-old Tre Lee Jackson, of Easton, and Davian Leon Hopkins, 19, of Tatum, were arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and transported to the Gregg County Jail.

Jackson was also arrested on two outstanding Burglary of a Habitation warrants from Harrison County.

LONGVIEW (KYTX) - A man is in the hospital after a shooting in Longview.

Longview Police say a shooting happened at the corner of Owings and Hutchings Streets around 1 this afternoon. When officers arrived, they found one man shot. Police say he was taken to Good Shepherd Hospital with life threatening injuries.

Two suspects have been taken into custody, police are still investigating the shooting.
