A local East Texas bakery announces their appearance on "Cupcake Wars"

Posted: Updated:

(KYTX) - An award winning local East Texas Bakery has announced their sweet secret that reveled them as contestants on the Food Network's hit show "Cupcake Wars." The Luscious Crumb filmed their episode back in October and was not able to reveal it until now. Cupcake War's is a competition that features four bakers and eliminates one after each round of the competition. The baker that wins the final bake-off receives a $10,000 cash prize.

Owner Dawn Trammell says, "It is a huge honor to even be considered for the show because only the best bakers in the country are asked to compete, but we have some tough competition right here in East Texas. We always have to push ourselves further to be the best in this area and I think that helped to prepare us for Cupcake Wars. "

The cupcake celebrities of Mineola will be hosting a watching party on Sunday, June 30 at 6p.m. and they are inviting everyone to come out and watch with them. The party will be hosted at The Lake Country Playhouse/ Select Theatre in Mineola.

If you would like to enjoy a specialty Luscious Crumb cupcake while you watch the premier, there will be another watching party in Emory at the Hometown Bar and Grill

The show will air on The Food Network Sunday, June 30th at 7 PM.
