Veterans Benefits Fair on Saturday in Longview

Posted: Updated:

LONGVIEW/GREGG COUNTY (KYTX) - The Texas Veterans Land Board (VLB) hosts free "come and go" benefits fairs to showcase resources available to Texas veterans.

A benefits fair is scheduled for 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday at Maude Cobb Convention and Activity Center, at 100 Grand Boulevard in Longview. The fair is open to veterans, their spouses, widows or dependants in Gregg, Smith, Harrison, Upshur and Rusk counties.

The next scheduled benefits fair is July 13 at the Norris Conference Center in San Antonio.

VLB staff, as well as representatives from the Texas Veterans Commission, U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Small Business Administration and Social Security Administration, provide a relaxed, one-stop location for information on disability and pension claims, home, land and home improvement loans, state veterans homes and cemeteries.

Texas veterans can also find up-to-date news about employment and education benefits, too.
