Group Mows Lawns for Free

Posted: Updated:

The scorching, East Texas heat. Not enough to keep these volunteers from mowing lawns for free. Debra Mason says her lawn had more weeds than she could count and that something this simple is making a big difference.
"I was not going to be able to get out and get it done. WIth the 4th coming, I am glad it will look good."

The group Positive People with Positive Attitudes is pushing the project. They have nearly 20 volunteers mowing dozens of lawns. Stephanie Williams is the media coordinator, she says it is just a small way to show love.
"We just want to show people that we are positive people doing positive things, and we are about helping other people."
"The group says they won't stop with just this neighborhood, but plan to do more"
Positive People with Positive Attitudes is funded through donations and plans on visiting different neighborhoods each month. Mowers like Devon Boyd say it isn't the easiest of services.
"You have to have heart to do it. ANd you got to want to give back."
Something Debra says she is very grateful for.
"I woke up this morning and saw people working. THey have beautified our neighborhood."
Something she is ready to show off for July Fourth.
