Report: Elderly drivers more likely to die in vehicle crashes

Posted: Updated:

LONGVIEW/GREGG COUNTY (KYTX) - It's an awkward conversation but one that could save a life. When should an elderly relative give up driving?

Longview police say elderly drivers caused two accidents with minor injuries this past week.

A study from the AAA organization that was completed by the Texas Transportation Institute found drivers over the age of 65 are nearly twice as likely as middle-aged drivers of dying in a vehicle crash.
