PINE TREE (KYTX) - The students and staff of Pine Tree Middle School will see a new face in the halls this year.  Dr. Laura Cavin, who most recently served an Assistant Principal at Hallsville North Elementary School, started in the Pine Tree district this month as Principal of the Middle School campus. Cavin is a graduate of the University of Texas at Tyler, East Texas Baptist University, Jacksonville Junior College, and is on track to also graduate from Stephen F. Austin State University with a Doctorate of Education.

Lara comes to Pine Tree with experience as both a teacher and administrator in Hallsville, Marshall, Tyler and Waskom ISD.  She has also served as adjunct faculty in the Department of Teacher Education with East Texas Baptist University.

"I am genuinely honored to serve the children and community of Pine Tree!" said Cavin.  "In researching information about the campus and district, one recurring theme continually comes to the forefront...the emphasis on people.  I look forward to being a part of this progressive district that is focused on deepening the roots of collaboration and innovative programs to  prepare future-ready students."

Cavin follows Middle School Principal Cliff Lightfoot, who transitioned to PT High School Assistant Principal.
