UPDATE: (KYTX) - Thunderstorms last night in Arkansas left boundaries which made their way into East Texas this afternoon and combined with daytime heat to produce thunderstorms which moved southward through the area.

Thunderstorms left behind some decent rainfall. We collected two-thirds of an inch at the KYTX CBS 19 studio at Troup Highway and ESE Loop 323 in Tyler. Activity will continue to move southward this afternoon and decrease as we lose daytime heating this evening.

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Smith County expired at 3 p.m. There were reports of up to quarter-size hail near Lindale. Lightning knocked out power in the Swan area and north Tyler.

It will be hot again Friday with a high near 100 degrees and a 20% chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms.
