Lindale looks to public to help build Veterans Memorial

Posted: Updated:

LINDALE (KYTX) - The Lindale American Legion post 15 wants to honor our military. With a vote by the city of Lindale and donated land, supporters can help build a veterans memorial.

The plan for the project has been being fought for for the past 18 months. When it's complete it will sit in downtown right next to the Lindale Library.

"I think we owe it to all of those people to do what we can to support their roles and the sacrifices they make and this is just our little way of doing that," said Rick Thelen with the American Legion.

To build the memorial, the public's help will be needed. People can help pay for the memorials construction by buying bricks, sponsoring a park bench or flag pole. Contributions are also being accepted.
