It's never too early to start back-to-school shopping

Posted: Updated:

(KYTX) - There's still plenty of time, but some parents are beating the rush and getting school supplies for next year.

Mom Laura Reno says she already has most of her bases covered for first grader Colin--when he goes back to Rice Elementary. She says getting the notebooks and backpacks in July keeps her from stressing later.

"It's usually colored construction paper and that was last year we couldn't find it we had to go somewhere else and then this year I got it so"

An online tool called myregistry.com is also something parents are using to keep  wish lists straight. It's especially helpful for college kids if others want to pitch in to get them supplies.
