LONGVIEW (KYTX) - Longview Police arrested the driver who hit a utility pole and crashed into a home in the 2100 block of Pine Tree Road Tuesday evening.

Longview Police Department Public Information Officer Kristi Brian tells KYTX CBS 19 that 25-year-old Jimmy Ray Gibson was arrested for stolen property and possession of driver's license.

Witnesses on the scene told police that Gibson hid something in the nearby woods following the accident and when officers caught up with him he had in his possession two purses.

After further investigation, officers connected Gibson to a vehicle burglary that happened around 6:30 p.m.
