Business News: Investors await stimulus phase out timetable

(CBS) - In Business News, the Federal Reserve kicks off a two day meeting in Washington today.

Fed chairman Ben Bernanke will hold a news conference after the meeting wraps up Wednesday.

Investors will be listening for fresh clues about a timetable for the Fed to begin phasing out its stimulus program.

Bernanke has said the Fed will likely begin reducing its bond buying program later this year depending on the strength of the economic recovery.

(CBS) - BMW Is the first luxury automaker to enter the electric car market.

The German company is using carbon-fiber materials to keep the car's weight down and improve driving performance.

The new i3 electric compact goes from zero to 60 in about seven seconds and has range of up to 100 miles.

The survey found that heavier grad school candidates who were asked to do a face-to face interview had lower admission rates than thinner applicants and overweight applicants who didn't have to do in-person interviews.
