PORTLAND (KHOU) – Houston Rockets Forward Terrence Jones was arrested by Portland police after he allegedly stomped on a sleeping homeless man's leg.

The 21-year-old was arrested early Wednesday in Old Town Portland.

A patrolling officer said he saw a group of people leaving the Tube nightclub on Northwest 3rd Avenue spill out onto the sidewalk just after 2 a.m., said Sgt. Pete Simpson with Portland police.

While watching the group walk away, the officer said he saw Jones walk by a doorway where two homeless men were sleeping. The officer said Jones yelled "wake up" and then stomped on one of the men's legs, Simpson said.

Police contacted Jones in the group of around eight people and took him into custody. He was booked in the Multnomah County Jail on harassment charges.

The victim, 46-year-old Daniel Kellerher, had a minor leg injury and did not require medical attention.

Jones was the Rocket's first-round draft pick in 2012.
