Business News: Unemployment rate for Black Americans down

Posted: Updated:

(CNN) - In Business News, the unemployment rate for Black Americans is at its lowest level since 2008.

The nation's latest jobs report shows about 12.6 percent of Black Americans are unemployed.

That's down from a high of 16.5 percent in August of 2011. The current unemployment rate for Blacks is still considerably higher than the  the overall population.

Thanks to an improving economy with a fair amount of new jobs.

(CBS) - A record number of young adults are living with mom and dad.

A new Pew research study finds that 36 percent of people aged 18 to 31 are living at home with their parents. That's the highest percentage in four decades.

Men are more likely to live with their parents than women 40 percent to 32 percent.

Financial planners say parents with adult kids still living at home should charge them some rent and make them do chores.

(CBS) - Microsoft Co-founder Paul Allen and his band, The Underthinkers, will release their debut album this week.

It's entitled "Everywhere At Once". All proceeds will be donated to educational programs.

The programs include teen artist workshops, and a music therapy camp for children with autism and developmental disabilities.
