Web Exclusive: The dangers police face with real-looking toy guns

Posted: Updated:

(CBS/CNN) - As if police officers don't already have enough to deal with, now they are dealing with toy air guns that look very much like the real thing.  There are even some real guns that look fake!

There are guns, like a 50 caliber Desert Eagle pistol that are the real deal and then another that looks just like it, is not.
Then there's a pink shotgun Oklahoma Police showed off.  It may look like a toy, but its not.
In fact, it will fire a lethal round. That's why fake guns can cause a real problem for police

"From a distance it looks like the real thing and most importantly when its pointed at you, you can't tell its not the real thing," says Dexter Nelson, Oklahoma Police Dept.  Police say if you do get a fake gun for your kids, monitor them, do not let them go out in a public place with them because you never know if they can be mistaken for a real weapon.

Two "Real Housewives of New Jersey" stars say they are not guilty!  Teresa and Joe Giudice made their second court appearance Wednesday.  They answered to a slew of federal fraud charges including accusations that they lied on loan applications.  They both entered a not guilty plea.  Their trial is set for October 8th.

Facebook is trying to be more celebrity-friendly.  The social network site is getting ready to unveil new VIP features for famous folks.  These changes will allow stars to keep a close eye on chatter and interact with their fans much more easily.  Testing on these features will soon start with a limited group of celebs.
