UPDATE: Sheriff's deputies in Chambers County, TX arrested Daniel Andres Muniz Saturday afternoon. Miguel Hernandez Monsivais is still at large.

LUFKIN (KYTX) -- 25-year-old Kristine Maldonado Garcia was arrested Saturday for murder in connection with the August 14th discovery of a dead body inside a burning Ford F-150 near South Medford Drive in Lufkin.

Maldonado is one of three people identified by the Lufkin Police Department as having been involved in the killing.

Detective J.B. Smith said Saturday that the preliminary investigation led the department to believe 47-year-old Efren Mora Elizondo, the owner of the burned out truck, was the man who died inside. Smith said that information will still need to be confirmed via an autopsy and DNA testing.

Smith said Elizondo was likely killed in an incident separate from the torching of the truck, and that his place of death was likely somewhere other than the intersection of Renfro Drive and Valley Avenue at which the burning truck was found. Elizondo's place of death is being withheld for the time being.

Garcia's capture was handled Saturday by the St. Landry Parish, Louisiana Sheriff's Department. They were acting on a warrant obtained by Lufkin Police. On Friday, investigators in Lufkin received information indicating that Garcia was in Nacogdoches County. Deputies there attempted to serve the warrant unsuccessfully. They said she fled the area prior to their arrival.

There is an arrest warrant for murder out for 22-year-old Miguel Hernandez Monsivais of Lufkin. Monsivais is a Hispanic man, 6'2", 240 pounds with brown eyes and brown hair.

Lufkin Police have also obtained an arrest warrant for tampering with or fabricating physical evidence for 29-year-old Daniel Andres Muniz of Winnie, TX. Muniz is a Hispanic man, 5'8", 190 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information concerning the current location of Miguel Hernandez Monsivais or Daniel Andres Muniz can provide information anonymously by calling Crime Stoppers of Lufkin at (936) 639-TIPS or by submitting an anonymous tip at www.LufkinCrimeStoppers.com. Crime Stoppers Tipsters never have to give their name and Crime Stoppers may pay a cash reward for information that leads to the arrest of any of these wanted persons.
