TYLER (TYLER MORNING TELEGRAPH) - Walmart filed a building permit for a $2.5 million renovation to the 54,189-square-foot former Albertson's building, at 1900 ESE Loop 323, for a Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market.

"The Tyler Walmart Neighborhood Market is on track for an early 2014 grand opening," Erica Jones, senior manager of communications, public affairs and government relations for Walmart, said in an email.

Walmart, based in Bentonville, Ark., is the owner while GRB Service System Inc., doing business as Southwestern Services, of Fort Worth, is the contractor for the renovation project.

 

Tyler Junior College is adding a Subway restaurant in Pirtle Hall, at 1327 S. Baxter Ave. Replacing the retail concept in the 663-square-foot space includes new millwork and equipment. Aramark Corp., of Philadelphia, is the owner and SpawGlass, of Austin, is the contractor for the $200,000 project.

Woodcrest, of Fort Worth, is renovating an 11,949-square-foot space in Olde English Village, at 3500 S. Broadway Ave., Suite 300, for Hangers of Hope.

Hangers of Hope is a new thrift store that is expected to open in September and will benefit the Bethesda Health Clinic, a nonprofit faith-based clinic that was established to provide affordable health care to working uninsured adults.

 

Renovation work includes 300 amp service panel, HVAC, restrooms, lighting, partitions and walls. Woodcrest Construction Services is the contractor for the $150,000 project.

Matt McKinney is adding new partition walls in a 975-square-foot office space at 4500 S. Broadway Ave. for MVM Enterprises LLC. Wilbur McKinney is the contractor for the $17,500 project.

Sign permits were filed by CEFCO/Fikes Wholesale, 5011 Troup Highway, Suite 800, $26,200, Design Center Signs; Head Masters, 1314 WSW Loop 323, $4,355, Design Center; and Taco Bell, 3808 S. Broadway Ave., $29,000, Design Center.

There was a plumbing inspection permit filed for Happy's Fish Basket, at 2202 E. Fifth St., and a temporary power permit for Splash-N-Dash, at 2017 S. Broadway Ave.

 

RESIDENTIAL

Ashley Hogue is building a 3,365-square-foot house at 1230 Cambridge Bend for $250,000. Starr Capital Investments is the contractor.

Casey Homes is constructing a 3,380-square-foot home at 1810 Stonehaven Court for $210,000.

Johnson Humphrey Homes is building a 3,348-square-foot house at 1604 Cimmarron Trail for $210,000.

Glory Builders Inc. is constructing a 2,204-square-foot house at 5841 Havens Trail for $185,000.

Oscar Paniagua is building a $62,800 pool at 3838 Brighton Court. Trinity Valley Pools is the contractor.

Southwest Poolworks is constructing a $45,000 pool at 6929 St. Anthony Drive.

Ricardo Perez is renovating a house at 117 S. Thompson for $21,800. Work includes plumbing, sheetrock, paint, cabinets, electrical and heating. RP Construction is the contractor.

Timothy Cunningham is replacing 14 windows at 904 N. Azalea for $7,775. THD At-Home Services is the contractor.

Hamilton Park Construction LLC is finishing out three, 1,991-square-foot residences at 421 W. Cumberland Nos. 204, 402 and 403 for $5,000 each.

Shirley Kirksey is replacing a patio door for $3,915 at 3307 Jan Ave. Sears Home Improvement is the contractor.

David Haney is building a metal carport at 301 Baylor Drive for $2,300.

Barbara Skeen is replacing a door for $552 at 407 Windomere Circle. A-Z Construction is the contractor.

Driveway permits were filed by DKM Contracting, 5476 Hollytree Drive; David Ramirez, 4133 and 4210 Colina Trail; Villelas Concrete, 9239 Stonebank Crossing; Luis Leandro, 1036 E. Elm St.; and Soto Concrete, 2508 and 2512 Guinn Farm.

There also were two residential plumbing inspection permits, two residential temporary electrical service permits and 22 HVAC permits filed.
