New supercharging car stations opening across Texas

Posted: Updated:

(KYTX) - Speaking of electric cars, if you need a boost to your battery you can do that in Texas.

Tesla Motors has opened its first super charger station in Texas at the San Marcos outlet mall. It allows Tesla owners to charge their vehicles for free.

The company says it takes 20 to 30 minutes to go from empty to fully charged.

"The infrastructure of electric vehicles is rapidly going. We're opening these supercharging stations to connect road trips, connecting the most popular routes for our customers."

Another supercharger station is being built in Waco and is expected to be done before the end of September and Tesla has broken ground to connect more stations all along the i-35 corridor.
