TYLER (TYLER MORNING TELEGRAPH) - Tyler Junior College announced this morning that the new nursing and health sciences building being built on campus will be known as the Robert M. Rogers Nursing and Health Sciences Center.

The center, scheduled to open in 2015, is being funded through a combination of $25 million in bond funds and $25 million in student user fees and private donations. Rogers, who died in 1997, was the founder, chairman and chief executive of TCA Cable TV in Tyler. A philanthropic foundation bearing his name now funds various projects in the region.
