UPDATE: 4th suspect in park shooting arrested

UPDATE: (KYTX) - On September 5, 2013 Tyler Police Department received information that wanted person, Elisha "EJ" Williams, was in the 600 block of S. Fenton in Tyler. 

Surveillance of the residence was conducted.  Once information confirmed that Elisha "EJ" Williams was in the residence, Officers with the Tyler Police Department attempted to serve the warrant. 

Two females came out of the residence. A pit bull followed the last female out of the residence.  Officers ordered them to put the dog back in the house.  The orders were ignored.  The dog then aggressively went towards Officers.  Fearing for their safety and the safety of others at the scene, Officers shot the dog. 

Elisha "EJ" Williams then voluntarily came out of the residence and submitted to arrest. 

Elisha "EJ" Williams was transported to the Smith County jail and is being held on a $1,000.000.00 bond.

 


UPDATE: September 5, 2013 - (KYTX/TMT) - Tyler Police confirm Elisha "EJ" Williams was arrested Thursday morning.

 

A search warrant was executed at a residence in the 600 block of South Fenton Avenue in Tyler, and Elisha "EJ" Williams, of Tyler was arrested.

During the serving of the warrant, several police officers fired shots at the suspect's pit bull dog, which charged police, Lt. Lee Plymail said. No officers were injured, but the dog was killed.

TYLER (KYTX) - Tyler Investigators have secured an arrest warrant for Elisha "EJ" Williams, B/M, 11/19/94, of Tyler, for Murder.  Williams was involved in the shooting death of Briana Raquel Young who was shot in PT Cole Park on Tuesday, July 30, 2013.  Judge Jack Skeen set his bond at $1,000,000.

Investigators have not been able to locate Williams and need your help in locating him.  Anyone with information about Williams or any other further details related to this case is urged to contact the Tyler Police Department, at 903-531-1000, or Crimestoppers at 903-597-CUFF (903-597-2833).  Crimestoppers will pay up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest and charges filed against the suspects in this case.

Tyler Police Investigators, along with the Smith County District Attorney's Office and U.S. Marshal's Office, continue to work with each other to bring all the suspect(s) involved in the death of Briana Young to justice.
