UPDATE: Man found dead in Lufkin parking lot identified

UPDATE: LUFKIN (KYTX) - The man found dead in a Lufkin parking lot has been identified as 49-year-old Jerry Lynn Franklin of Beaumont.

Franklin was found deceased next to a truck in the 1300 block of Kurth Drive Wednesday.

An autopsy was performed August 29 to determine the cause and manner of death. 

According to the Lufking Police Department, the results of the autopsy are not yet available but preliminary findings indicate that Franklin died of natural/medical causes.

 

 


UPDATE: LUFKIN (KYTX) - An autopsy is being performed in Beaumont this afternoon to determine the cause and manner of death of a man found deceased in a parking lot in Lufkin. 

 

At this time, it has not been confirmed that the man's family has been notified of the death, so the name of the person is being withheld. 

KYTX CBS 19 will continue to update with information as it becomes available.

 


LUFKIN (KYTX) - Lufkin Police are investigating the death of a man found in a parking lot Wednesday night.

Officers responded to the 1300 block of Kurth Drive around 11:57 p.m. of a report of dead man next to a red GMC pickup.

Officers observed a vehicle jack, in its extended position, next to the pickup.

No word on the cause and manner of death.

The man's identity is being withheld until next-of-kin has been notified.
