Tyler convenience store robbed, man takes cash

From the Tyler Police Department:

On 08-30-2013 at approximately 9:40pm, officers responded to a Commercial Robbery at the Food Fast gas station, 6424 S. Broadway, Tyler, Smith County, Texas.

Upon their arrival, store employee's advised that a black male entered through the front door.

Once inside, the suspect grabbed one of the workers and demanded money from the cashier.

He had his hand covered with some type of rag or shirt and there appeared to be a gun underneath.

An undisclosed amount of money was placed inside a bag, and the suspect fled the scene East bound behind the store.  

Just before the robbery occurred, one of the employee's observed an older model white, 4 door sedan parked behind the building.

The suspect's face was concealed with a light colored stocking cap.

The employees were unharmed during the incident. The suspect was described as a black male, between 5'8-5'10'' tall, approximately 150lbs, with black hair.

He did have a goatee and was wearing a dark brown sweater, and dark pants.  

At this time there is no further information pertaining to the case.

This incident is still under investigation.

Anyone with information about this case is urged to contact the Tyler Police Department, at 903-531-1000, or Crimestoppers at 903-597-CUFF (903-597-2833).  Crimestoppers will pay up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest and charges filed against the suspects in this case or any felony case.
