S.E. quadrant of the City of Troup under boil-water notice

Posted: Updated:

TROUP (KYTX) - The City of Troup has issued a boil water notice for the southwest quadrant of Troup effective until further notice.

All customers bounded on the North by E. Duval St., on the East by S. Price Street, on the West by S. Front St. and on FM 110 to  and including CR 4801 are included in the notice.

Due to a water main break, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) has required the city to notify customers of the City of Troup Public Water Supply ID 212003 to boil their water prior to consumption.

Water should be boiled to ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and making ice prior to use. The water should be brought to a vigorous, rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes. In lieu of boiling, you may purchase bottled water or obtain water from some other suitable source.

Officials will notify customers when it is no longer necessary to boil the water.

Any questions concerning the boil water notice can be address to John Phillips at 903-842-3128.

TCEQ can be contacted at 512-239-4691.
