UPDATE: (KYTX) - Pine Tree Athletic Director/Head Football Coach Derek Fitzhenry tells CBS 19 that he has been reinstated and will be on practice field this afternoon with his kids.

Pine Tree Director of Communication Vickie Echols released a statement stating that the Pine Tree ISD Board of Trustees met in regular session Monday, September 9, 2013.  After deliberating over three hours in closed session, Trustees supported action for the Superintendent TJ Farler to carry out a conditional reinstatement of Coach Derek Fitzhenry as Athletic Director and head football coach.

The conditions for the reinstatement were not disclosed, because the school district is legally and ethically bound not to provide any details regarding personnel issues.  Any statements made regarding the issues from unofficial sources are merely speculation and rumor.

The process of handling situations regarding a student or employee are always protected by law for the safety and respect of all involved.

UPDATE: Pine Tree Athletic Director/Head Football coach Derek Fitzhenry arrived at the Pine Tree ISD administrative building Tuesday afternoon.

UPDATE: Pine Tree ISD spokeswoman Vickie Echols said this morning that no action will be taken this morning regarding Athletic Director and Head Football Coach Derek Fitzhenry.

Fitzhenry remains on paid administrative leave today, and no other information will be disclosed because this is a personnel matter, she said.

UPDATE: No action was taken by Pine Tree ISD trustees late Monday involving Athletic Director and Head Football Coach Derek Fitzhenry.

Superintendent Dr. T.J. Farler said trustees have given her instructions regarding Fitzhenry, who has been on paid administrative leave since Sept. 3 for an incident that reportedly occurred at an Aug. 31 football game. Farler would not release trustees' decision, saying that "it is a personnel matter.

She did say the matter would be resolved Tuesday.

More than 190 people showed up to trustees' meeting Tuesday. Many of them showed support for Fitzhenry.

"Over the years, we've had so many coaches come in, come out," Pine Tree senior football player Bryndin Hartman said in support of Fitzhenry, "and it seems like now, as a team, we've grown together to be part of a family."

There were others at Monday's meeting who called for the board to make a tough disciplinary decision if the facts merited it.

"As a board, you may not be responsible for the actions that have taken place over the last few days, but you are responsible legally and ethically for what happens from here," said Debbie Garrett, who said she was a Pine Tree parent and alum.

Monday night's meeting lasted five hours, forty-five minutes -- including two closed sessions that lasted more than four combined hours. Still, at least 40 people were there when trustees adjourned shortly after 11:15 p.m.

(KYTX) - Pine Tree ISD board of trustees has voted 4-2 to set the tax rate at $1.55 per $100 of property value.

It represents a 4.4 cent increase from last year. Finance Director Judy Downing said the district suffered a 3.56% reduction in property values.

Pine Tree ISD employee head football coach Derek Fitzhenry is on administrative leave for a situation that happened about two weeks ago.

Pine Tree ISD is now in closed session.
