12-year-old son calls 911 to report deadly shooting at his home

CASS COUNTY (KYTX) - Cass County Sheriff's Office and Texas Rangers are investigating a shooting over the weekend that left one person dead and one person injured.

On Saturday at 2:04 a.m., Cass County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call from 12-year-old son to report a shooting at his home He further stated the shooting occurred during a disturbance, between his mother, Jean Ann Haltom and his father, Christopher Phillip Haltom. 

Cass County Deputy was dispatched to the scene at 501 CR 4921 Bloomburg. Deputy arrived on scene at 2:20 a.m. to find that both Phillip Haltom and his wife Jean Haltom had gunshot wounds. 

Life Net ambulance was dispatched to the home at 2:07a.m. Life Net Medic arrived on scene at 2:21 a.m. The victim, Jean Ann Haltom, was located in the Master bedroom of the home on the floor. 

Jean Ann Haltom appeared to have been shot with a firearm.  Life Net Paramedics checked her for life signs and found none. 

Christopher Phillip Haltom was located in the living room of the home conscious and alert.  He also had a gunshot wound.

Life Net Paramedics attended to his wounds and an air life ambulance was dispatched.  He was transported by Air Life to St. Michael's Hospital for treatment and subsequent released from the hospital and transported to Cass County Sheriff's Office for interview. 

The investigation continues by the Texas Rangers and Cass County Sheriff's Office. 

Victim was transported to Southwest Forensic.
