NACOGDOCHES (KYTX) - Tuesday at 6:25 am, the Nacogdoches Police Department responded to an open emergency line at a residence in the 3100 block of Logan Circle. 9-1-1 communications personnel could hear a disturbance in progress.

Arriving NPD patrol officers determined that several people were inside the residence. Five females, including two juveniles, exited the residence and informed officers that a man inside was armed with handgun.

Officers established verbal contact with the suspect and after negotiating with him for over an hour, he surrendered without further incident at 7:40 am.

Further investigation has determined that the suspect had forcibly entered the residence, physically assaulting two of the adults after making entry. The suspect also threatened the victims with the handgun. When officers arrived, the females were able to escape without injury. The suspect was a former boyfriend of one of the residents.

The man arrested has been identified as Marvin Tolliver, age 40 of Houston, Texas. He was taken to the Nacogdoches County Jail. He has been charged with burglary of a habitation and aggravated kidnapping.
