U.S. Constitution is 226 years old today

(KYTX) - The U.S. Constitution is 226 years old today!

On September 17th, 1787, 42 of the 55 delegates to the Constitutional Convention held their final meeting.Only one item of business occupied the agenda that day, to sign the Constitution of the United States of America.

In celebration, today is named Constitution Day. Those who represent U.S. right here in East Texas are remembering what it means to our country.

"The principals within the constitution should not ever change. It is not a living breathing document. It's a set of principles which a nation can be built."

Even though the U.S Constitution is less than four pages long, it is still the backbone our country uses to stand.
