The Village at Cumberland breaks ground; new shopping center coming soon

Posted: Updated:

(KYTX) -Developers and city leaders broke ground today for the new 700 square foot shopping center in Tyler.

It's called the largest project of its kind in the state right now. The Village at Cumberland park  is on US  69 South right before Toll 49.

Once completed, the shopping center will be a wide range of shopping stops, and eatery's. Developers say, this project has long been in the making and it will be great for Tyler economics.

"We see it as a retail driver an economic driver for Tyler with a 150 or 50 million dollar investment and also 2,000 jobs," says Bob Garrett, President of Broadway South Development.

Developers say this project has been 14 years in the making. They say you can expect to start seeing buildings take shape in the next few months.
